Tour Options
When booking your visit to the Puerto de Indias distillery you can choose between two types of experiences. In both cases, we'll meet at the indicated time at the factory's main entrance.
Standard Tour (1.5 hours)
Puerto de Indias is one of the oldest and most traditional distilleries in Andalusia. During the tour, we'll explore the factory's foundations, which are sustained by a subterranean water spring dating back to Roman times. We'll learn about the process of making distillates in copper stills that use traditional and avant-garde techniques.
Next, we'll visit the distillation room where the Puerto de Indias gins are currently made. From here, we'll continue on and enter an exhibition room full of stills dating back to 1880. With the help of these visual aids, we'll gain a deeper understanding of the manufacturing process carried out from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Finally, after an hour of exciting discoveries, we'll put the perfect finishing touch on the tour: a gin tasting! We'll leave you 30 minutes of free time in the tasting room where you can savor 3 different gin varieties, paired with chips or nuts.
Premium Tour (2 hours)
On this tour, the first hour will be dedicated to a sensory experience through the different showrooms. Then, we'll stroll through the gardens of Finca Brenes, the estate where the Puerto de Indias distillery is located. Within the gardens, we'll see fruit trees essential to producing the raw materials needed for gin production.
To wrap up the first half of the tour, we'll move underground to explore the Roman water mine, just under the distillery.
Then, we'll move into the second half of the tour, which includes an organoleptic tasting—a sensory experience involving all five senses. In an exclusive room, we'll taste a total of five gins.
Be sure to pay close attention during the tasting! At the end of it, you'll choose your favorite gin sampled, and the bartender on hand will use it in the Perfect Serve cocktail ritual. What better way to end an immersive tour than with a customized cocktail? Enjoy your drink in the exclusive tasting room or in the gardens, either way, it makes for the perfect ending to the visit.
